About two years ago, we made a short vacation journey into northeast Kansas. Somewhere along the way, we stumbled on to this fabulous stone barn that was baking in some super hot summer weather. I managed to survive outside of our air conditioned car long enough to make this shot. I think it was worth the effort. Here’s hoping you agree.

Halls Of Ivy
So many years ago, I spent my first day of school working hard on a simple drawing. I can still see that simple little image. So many years later, I find myself once again making a picture for the first day of school. Time and technology have truly had an impact on my artistic efforts. Here is my latest attempt. I call this image, “Halls Of Ivy.”
Madison’s Covered
There’s an old saying that good things come to those who wait. This image is proof that there must be some bit of truth in this old saying. I say this because I have been working with image for well over two years. In all the time that I have edited with this image of a covered bridge in Madison County Iowa, nothing would come close to what I felt when I saw this bridge. Finally, with my new method of editing my images, I can say with some satisfaction that this image is ready to be shared. You might say that at long last, Madison’s covered.
Journey Home Again
There is an old saying that notes, “if you give a man a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” I have found a new hammer to use on my work; a hammer that hopefully will move my images forward in ways that I never thought possible. Take this image for example. In its original form, this has been one of my most popular efforts. Much remains to be seen if this new version will be equally well received. So, for those that have followed my work for some time, here is my newest “hammered” version of one of my all time favorite images.
Faith
Although it might seem that I have been too quiet lately, I have been working n a new body of images. Here is a sample of my latest effort. I am really interested in what you think of this. This image, as you might notice, is moving beyond what I have done in the past. I am experimenting with a body of work that I hope will lead to more interesting images. If this works, I will be thrilled. And if it doesn’t work, I might need a bit more faith in what I am doing. As the old saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Thanks for looking!
