This past week has been a mix of good times and lost times. On balance, I believe that the week was a good one. I am looking forward to three local events this weekend that might make for some interesting images. If things work out the way I hope, I will have some new material to share. I the meantime, here is an image for your viewing pleasure. I shot this set of barns in a open field near Regina Canada.

Sometimes seeing is not believing. This is certainly the case in this image. What you see before is a composite photograph. The front portion of the image was shot near Regina Canada this past summer. The sky and clouds were “borrowed” from an earlier image shot somewhere in southwest Iowa. Whenever I make a composite image, I try to signal to the viewer that the image has been tweaked. I usually do this with the aid of filter or two that will give the final image an other worldly look. As Ansel Adams said, “I don’t take photographs. I make photographs.” I like that idea. If it was good enough for Ansel Adams, it is definitely good enough for me. If you agree, maybe we are twins.
